Talugians

Talugians are an ancient species of volcanic humanoids. Their origins are largely unknown, but it is believed they evolved from more primitive species on Talagus, they did not migrate from another planet.

The Talugians are a first class species. High intelligence, extreme strength, a good sense of justice and a moral society, there is just one problem, they cannot leave their planet. In order to survive, they need to live under conditions un-found anywhere else in the galaxy. In order to replicate a spaceship or even a space suit to recreate their atmosphere, it would be far too destructive. Because of this, progress on Talagus was very rough until recently when they made contact with trades and commissioners in order to work on jobs they could do very well. They have to work with what they have on their planet, and so trading inter-galactically is critical for their progress.

Vulnerability
Currently the Talugians are in a golden age of sorts. However they have always had to deal with their vulnerability of being stuck on their planet. While the rest of the galaxy’s species were roaming space freely and progressing because of it, the Talugians were unable to use travel to their advantage, instead it put them in danger. Before the Talugians were weak and not nearly as intelligent as they are today, but with successive attempts from alien species trying to colonize the planet, the Talugians became strong because of this. In fact, their “charged” forms only came to be based on the hardships they had to face, and only came about when they were in extreme danger. Today, this explosive power helps them not only to defend themselves, but to further their civilization as well.
