The Talugians are a democratic republic. As said previously, the Talugians have many reasons to be unified, they are a single nation on a massive planet, there is a majority which believes in one religion, and the majority speaks a single language. This makes things very peaceful, however, it should not be confused to lead to a communist state by any means. The people are free to do as they please, as is in a democracy, the majority simply have many cultural  similarities, making them feel united and not wanting to fight against each other. There are still the rich and the poor, but the discrepancy like on old Earth where the 1% held a ridiculous amount of money does not exist on Talagus. A poor Talugian is equivalent to a middle-class citizen on Earth, while only a select few Talugians could be called millionaires, not billionaires or anything further. This equality is enforced by the democracy they have. Decisions are made by a more or less homogeneous group, as Talagus is a nation state. Presidential elections happen every 10 years, and Presidents can go on for 3 terms if re-elected. Remember that the Talugians trust each other, and many of the citizens of Talagus could easily lead the nation. They also live for an average of 500 years, which is another reason they can run for so long. Currently, their president is renowned Cliok Tuck, he has played his role very well, revolutionizing the technologic industry by increasing funds there by 500%. Before, much of the money was spent on military, but now the Talugians have spoken and believe it is time to focus on unity and innovation, believing their military power is strong enough to at least defend themselves from even the most powerful planets in the galaxy.
